After a long and thorough consultation period, the consortium submitted the 2021 call4sms application on 14 May. Building on the foundations of the 2020 project (refining it), the project will continue if it is adopted by the EIT Urban Mobility. The objective of the 2021’s CALL4SMS project is to design and develop a common methodology and platform for the urban environment (UE) testing of Smart Mobility Solutions (SMS), which enables to compare the performance in different environments UEs resulting in three EIT UM Factory tools:
a. SMS PROVE of concept for UE tool
b. SMS CHECK & TEST UE performance tool
c. SMS APPROVAL/LICENCING UE tool
The testing methodology would be refined through the implementation of two pilot user cases (Maas – TU/e, connected and automated traffic management – Milan, connected and automated environment perception systems – Virtual Vehicle) tested in the Central-East Hub Triangle of Innovation Excellence (Munich (DE), Milano (IT), CBC Square) and transferred and replicated for the Cross-border Cooperation Square of Just Transition (Zalaegerszeg (HU), Maribor (SLO), Koprivnica (CRO), Graz (AT)). The other unique value proposition is to involve citizen participation into the testing.
